A half‑day, hands‑on workshop where you’ll dive into the fun of dyeing by learning to dye your own Variegated Yarn.
When: Saturday, July 25th, 2026, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon, with a cozy tea break midway
Where: Hillcrest House Fiber and Yarn, 161 Ridge Rd., Walpole, Maine 04573
You’ll dye two skeins (400 yards total) using all‑provided materials, experiment with practice skeins, and enjoy the creative freedom of building your own color story. Wear clothes you don’t mind splashing with dye! You’ll also work with practice skeins supplied by the instructor, so please bring a pair of size 6 knitting needles.
You’ll head home with two beautifully dyed skeins in your unique palette, plus a pattern for The Blue Lagoon—a reversible, offset basket‑weave cowl designed for one skein of fingering‑weight yarn. If you have any questions, call or email Kay.
Instructor: Linda Perry, a lifelong knitter with BA and MA degrees in textiles and design, brings decades of teaching experience as a former college professor. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Interweave, Piecework, and Spinoff, and she founded Harbor Yarns, known for its indigo and specialty hand‑dyed fibers.
